CIFAR President and CEO Chaviva Hošek presented with Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal

Chaviva Hošek was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal by the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, on Monday, February 6, 2012. A distinguished group of Ontarians received the medal, as a celebration of their tremendous achievements and contributions to Canada. The medal marks the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This year-round celebration includes ceremonies that will recognize 60,000 Canadians.

Chaviva joined CIFAR as President and CEO in 2001. Under her leadership, the Institute has developed as Canada’s premier centre for advanced research, linking top Canadian researchers to each other and to the world’s best.
