Uncovering the genetic complexities of brain disorders

A team of Canadian scientists has made advancements in understanding genetic influences on childhood brain disorders.
Not only did these scientists identify new genes that contribute to ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, but they also discovered that those same genes are involved in other neuropsychiatric conditions like autism spectrum disorder.
This research study was led in part by Dr. Stephen Scherer, a fellow in CIFAR’s Genetic Networks program, and is part of a new movement to explore the genetic interplay of various neuropsychiatric conditions.Read more
