ABOUT

The AI Futures Policy Lab is a full-day workshop for policy innovators to explore the intersection between public policy and artificial intelligence (AI). The materials provided here are designed to help you host and facilitate your own AI Futures Policy Lab.

Launched in 2018 by CIFAR’s AI & Society Program, in partnership with the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship (BII+E), the AI Futures Policy Labs have brought together over 125 policymakers from across Canada. Participants learn about current and future AI applications, discuss the policy challenges of AI, and develop creative policy responses.

"Learning more about AI [and] having terms explained in a more accessible way [was the most valuable]. Having imagination encouraged was also very useful and valuable in the exercises—helped to realize how AI is/will be used and why we need to prepare."
