Junaid is Director, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships at CIFAR. He is passionate about bringing best practice processes and systems to non-profits from across sectors. 

Junaid has experience in fundraising strategy development, international development, strategic planning and corporate and foundation relations. Prior to joining CIFAR, Junaid was the Director of Principal Gifts at the University of Calgary. Previously, he worked for the University of Alberta as the Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Before that, Junaid worked in Asia for seven years and Europe for seven years, where he managed multi-million dollar international projects in South Asia, East Asia and East Africa funded by leading bilateral and multilateral agencies including UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, European Union, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, AusAID, CIDA, DFID, NZAid, and USAID. Junaid has worked for several international organizations and foundations including the Asia Foundation, Aga Khan Foundation, Plan International and Commonwealth Foundation.

Junaid is a certified Project and Program Manager specializing in non-profit business planning, strategy, change management, performance measurement and evaluation. He holds an MA in International Economics, an MBA-Finance in Business Management and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics.
