Kate Ross’s group studies quantum magnetism as realized in materials with frustrated lattice geometries.

The group aims to produce exotic states of matter arising from many-body quantum entanglement of spins. Their main technique for characterization of these quantum materials is inelastic neutron scattering, which reveals the quasi-particle excitations from these phases and can be compared accurately to theory.
