Sharing the science of early childhood development through an online learning tool

The Science of Early Child Development (SECD) is an online resource for child development knowledge users that was started collaboratively between the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Department at Red River College and CIFAR.

CIFAR fellows provided key research insights and video interviews to populate the SECD, which formally launched in 2005. When the SECD was first being created, there was a gap of approximately 15 years between research and practice. CIFAR’s contribution to the SECD has helped close this gap and the SECD is now being used by a variety of knowledge users including students, educators, professors and practitioners.
