EXCHANGE   Roundtable

The Future of Neuroscience & VR

May 22 - 23 / 19

New York, NY

Participation is by invitation-only.

VR industry leaders are leveraging the brain’s visual and auditory systems and brain-body interactions to immerse users in virtual environments through machine system interfaces. However, relatively limited attention has been given to the potentially transformative opportunities at the nexus of VR experiences, neurotechnologies, and frontier brain research.

On May 22 and 23, CIFAR Fellows in the Azrieli Program in Brain, Mind & Consciousness (BMC) will come together with global leaders in VR content creation and technology development to explore how such an effort could drive forward the development of more immersive designed realities as well as a richer understanding of the human brain.  This conversation will draw on the work of BMC fellows and advisors making pioneering efforts to understand human consciousness, embodiment, and how we perceive and interact with the world around us.

This CIFAR Exchange will build on CIFAR’s 2018 Game Developers Conference panel “The Future of VR: Neuroscience and Biosensor-Driven Development”.
