Ian Fisher Physicist

Ian Fisher’s research focuses on obtaining a deeper understanding of materials with unconventional magnetic or electronic properties, with an emphasis on the design and discovery of new materials in single crystal form. His experiments probe the thermodynamic and transport properties of these materials, often under extreme conditions of field, temperature or pressure. Fisher is currently interested in unconventional superconductors; instabilities of low-dimensional materials; topological insulators; and the quantum magnetism of spin dimer compounds.
