Ming Lei is Executive Director of the Institute of Precision Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He graduated from the Department of Physics of Tsinghua University in 1994, and received a Master’s degree in Physics from McGill University in 1996 and PhD in Biophysics from Harvard University in 2001. Dr. Lei began his academic career at the Department of Biological Chemistry, University of Michigan as an assistant professor and became tenured associate professor in 2010. The goal of Dr. Lei’s laboratory is to understand the organization and dynamics of macromolecular assemblies important for genome regulation and stability. With a combination of structural analyses, such as X-ray crystallography, nuclear magnetic resonance and electron microscopy, coupled with biochemical and cell biology approaches, his laboratory has made important contributions to the telomere biology field. Dr. Lei has published more than 60 Science Citation Index (SCI) papers.
