Renata Kallosh Kallosh
Renata Kallosh received her BS from Moscow State University and PhD from Lebedev Institute of the Academy of Sciences. She started her career at the Lebedev Institute, later becoming a scientific associate at the Division of Theoretical Physics at CERN, Geneva. From 1990, she has been a Professor of Physics (Department. of Physics) at Stanford University (and, by courtesy, a Professor at the Stanford Department of Mathematics).
She is an expert in theoretical physics: elementary particle physics, supersymmetry, supergravity and string theory. More recently, she was involved in studies of early universe cosmology and relations of cosmological observations to fundamental physics. She invented, with her collaborators, a well known attractor mechanism in supersymmetric black holes in string theory and supergravity.
One of her research directions is the study of observable dark energy and its meaning for theoretical physics. She made a significant contribution to the studies of string theory landscape that supports the concept of the multiverse. She was invited to give the prestigious Coxeter Lectures at the Fields Institute, won an Alexander von Humboldt award for American scientists and recently held a visiting professorship position at the Yukawa Institute in Kyoto.
